Welcome to the Owl Room
Age group: 4-5 years old
Learning /Curriculum
In the Owl Room exploration can be seen happening at all times of the day. Children have the opportunity to flow from different areas and explore their interests in a variety of different ways such as:
Art
Science
Math
Literacy
Dramatic Play
And many more!
Baking
Children have the opportunity to participate in a variety of baking activities. Children are able to help cut, measure, and mix different ingredients. The baking is then used for PM snack for the whole center to enjoy as a community.
Outdoor Play
Due to this age group not napping, the children are able to spend more of their day outdoors. Children are encouraged to become one with nature. Please ensure your child has all of the appropriate outdoor clothing as well as multiple changes of clothes.
Family and Community Involvement
In the Owl Room we encourage families to join us in the room. Whether it is for a story, snack, baking activity, etc. please feel free to come and join us!
We encourage all families to bring in a family picture. If you do not have a family photo please let the educators know and we can arrange something.
We also find the children love having pictures of other family members, adventures they have gone on, or just things they have been enjoying doing at home. We love having these photos and post them on our family board in the room for the children to see and talk about.
In the Owl Room Children are not offered a scheduled nap time like Robins, Budgies, Chickadee’s, and Hummingbirds. However, if children are expressing they would like to rest, the environment is set up to support this need.
